LIVE PARTNERSHIPS

I am actively seeking partnerships with live streaming companies and individuals looking to stream as a freelance video resource in the NYC tristate area, and nationally if needed. I’ve been a shooter and editor for over 15 years, and have been actively involved in video streaming technologies since the late 1990s. I have been actively waiting for the convergence between technology and broadcasting to occur since 1997.

As a video technician, I started working with streaming media and webTV technologies at About.com, even prior to its renaming from The Mining Company. I continued my expertise at Columbia University’s Center for New Media Teaching and Learning, (a new media think tank and services center), where as a Senior Digital Video Specialist, we often beta tested and deployed early streaming technologies, including Quicktime Streaming Servers, Real Media Servers, MS Corona Servers, linking up them up to Akami or other CDNs for live events like commencement or lecture series. We also pioneered the podcasting of short form documentary pieces for online learning, servicing every school from Medical to Arts.

I continued my career as a VJ, video technician and content creator at Spirit, one of the biggest live venues in NYC (2003-2005). I worked with live bands from Brandy and Mobb Deep to GWAR and Blondie. I’ve performed with and streamed live feeds for many of the top DJs including Junior Vasquez, Robbie Rivera and Dirty Vegas. I toured with G Love and Special Sauce for the Camel 9 Brand Tour, and streamed live from Burning Man in 2003.

As a news creative/tech, I’ve streamed live from the floor of the Washington DC Auto Show for the CEO of GM and other executives, where we fed directly to Bloomberg, CNBC, CNN and other outlets, effectively removing the need for a satellite truck. I’ve also streamed a morning show, Morning Glory, as a pilot, for six weeks this past spring. I will be working with a candidate for congress in the next months and plan to stream events live with him.

I also built a studio designed for streaming for a client in 2008 – 2 full bays – one white cyc, one full greenscreen, with edit suites, a voice over booth, drops in both stages, soundproof and completely spec’d out with cameras, mixers, mics, lights, teleprompters, etc. I’m eager to create a similar location in NYC that serves as a one-stop streaming studio for regular people who want an online show, but don’t know (or want to know) the technology/tools needed. I also am available to do live remote mixes and streaming for a variety of events from news to concerts to interview series.

I am passionate about live streaming and would love to work with similarly passionate people.  All budget levels welcome.  Email me here if you are looking for a live streaming expert, a shooter or an editor.
