Peace of Small Moments

Mother & Son, Sister & Child – M. Ulto
While wars rage, greed and egocentric behavior flourishes, hate grows and misery spreads, there is the peace of small moments to reflect on.
Love in a touch – the touch of an eyelash on a child’s cheek – butterfly kisses.
Peace in a touch – the soothing of cool air blown over a scraped knee.
The sound of birds and wind in the trees reminds me to breathe, slow, even.
The sights and sounds of water lapping at the shore, the pull of tides, to walk in tandem with.
Peace, my sisters and brothers, in the laughter of a child, seeing their simple joy and celebrating the miracle that is life.
Soothe, heal, share, fear not that you will not get your share.
Trust in time, in the greater good, in the things that chaos gives birth to. If you never knew pain, how could you understand the universality of the human experience? Of every being’s experience?
Look into a beloved’s eyes today, and see that love and peace as deep unending well we all drink from. See beyond the surface of attraction, of pleasant and polite comportment, into the soul.
Celebrate your connectedness, know that soothing and healing even one situation, making one child smile, making a loved one laugh, that you are doing the work of peace. Belief in peace can start with one moment of healing. Do not feel ashamed if the joy of this brings tears to your eyes. That is love manifesting in healing water, releasing tension and fear. Its connection happening, alive and wonderful and downright scary at times. Be brave, have courage and keep reaching out, however you can.
Peace is our legacy and our mission. It is all we can build and leave to our children. Nothing else matters but enduring, lasting, inclusive peace. We must do what is right and real and true, and in action, know that peace is our ultimate goal. Manifesting as faith, love and peace endure beyond our physical being. We are all here for a higher purpose, if we just believe, be brave, have faith and enact peace daily.
Peace, my brothers and sisters, is tangible in the small moments in which we can make a difference of light, one on one.
One Love – Peace & Change,
Melissa
