So I’ve been on and off line, for about six months now. My regular posts have dried up to a trickle. I suppose that’s what happens when a person re-examines their life, their beliefs, their sovereignty.
The news is a mirror, to hold up to myself, my world, my hates and loves. The recent news about the birth control patch is disturbing, but not surprising to me. I wore the patch for about a month in December 2003. I started losing hair in clumps. Research online yielded something package info did not include - one, supposedly rare, side effect of the patch was hair loss. I don’t think I would consider losing my hair a minor thing. It took a long time for some, not all, of that hair to grow back. Granted, it was a small patch, but it was right at the front. A trip to the dermatologist proved it was not “female pattern baldness” or “alopecia”. It was, to my horror, rather well known that the patch, and a selected group of hormonal supplements, cause hair loss. That wasn’t enough, it seemed, to pull it off the shelves. It strokes to do that.
