admissions and understanding

After spending a few months in deep depression, having to examine every part of my psyche and choices thus far, I have realized its time to let go of labels and beliefs that only breed anger and frustration. In reality, assholes inhabit all kinds of labels and belief systems. And while NY liberals frustrate me with many aspects of their rampant anti-W-ism, I have found it harder to believe anything Bush is doing is good for the lower and middle class. Yes, terrorism needs to end, but not used as an excuse to proliferate war. The idea of the DRAFT coming back, to inner cities and poor rural areas, saddens me. If we spend so much money on military technologies, why do we still need the poor as canon fodder? The military does not need any more bodies. The glut of both military personnel and national guardsmen on multiple tours continues, disrupting the economy locally and nationally with skilled, technical labor overseas. Families are suffering, with long separations or an untimely funeral.

There we no WMD, no terrorist camps, no reason to continue “installing freedom” in Iraq. Let it go, walk away, don’t micromanage the planet! Human beings will do as they always have done – make new out of the rubble. Afghanistan – what the hell are we still doing there?

Spend some of that military cash on funds for the families here, waiting, longing, hoping, and perhaps mourning. Scholarships for their kids, pay their bills, set them up, relieve their pain and stress.

I guess we all have to understand there are massive institutions that run the economy and thusly, the government. Do not let that stop you from trying to make this world, your world, as much as any human being’s planet, a better place.

I know I felt sadly disillusioned, but really expecting to be disappointed, by Bush and co. The misuse of the country’s panic and trust is really alarming but par for the course of Republican politics. Again, I ask, where is a third party.
