Yesterday, my ex-husband brought Watson over for me to say goodbye. A very sweet, very old cat. My white persian prince. I got him shortly after I moved to New York, in 1992, from a co-worker. He was my confidant, my snuggle buddy, and he travelled with me all over the city. He was my little love, curling up in my lap, purring so softly, with a tiny voice and a gentle disposition. Everyone who met my kitty fell in love with him.

i am inching toward greatness, sometimes stepping wide, sometimes leaping. mostly just laughing and hopping along.

i realize i am a girl who get things done, makes things happen. i can’t fathom failure as the final option of any situation. sure, doggedly trying over and over for a cause best left dead is silly. But i put my heart, back and soul into it. and i fail, over and over. nothing shameful about that - i am alive in every sense of the word. my failures are spectacular and the triumph comes in the lessons they yield. they make my successes that much sweeter.
